On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the Melawi Regency Central Statistics Agency carried out Sectoral Statistics Development and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Melawi Regency Data in Figures 2024 by inviting 27 OPDs. The event was held at the Convention Hall of the Melawi Regent's Office and opened by the Regional Secretary of Melawi Regency, Drs. Paul. At the opening of the event, Melawi Regency BPS gave awards to the Melawi Regency Internal Assessment Team, Melawi Regency Health Service, and Melawi Regency Education and Culture Office as a form of appreciation for their active role in the 2023 Melawi Regency Sectoral Statistics Implementation Evaluation (EPSS). , Melawi Regency BPKAD was also given an award as the best OPD for submitting data for the preparation of the 2024 Melawi Regency Publication in Figures.
In his speech, the Head of BPS Melawi Regency, Yunita SST., M.Ec.Dev. conveyed the importance of sectoral statistics and the preparation of the Regions in Figures publication. BPS as the supervisor of statistical data has carried out an Evaluation of the Implementation of Sectoral Statistics (EPSS). The results of the evaluation of the implementation of sectoral statistics will produce the Statistical Development Index (IPS), which is an index value that represents the level of maturity of statistical development and implementation of Sectoral Statistics as a whole.
Sectoral Statistics Development was delivered by Hotmaria Elecktawati Lumbangaol, SST., and Muhamad Iqbal Arsa, S.Tr.Stat., First Expert Statistician of Melawi Regency BPS, and Konstantinus Borong, S.S, Head of Public Information Management and Public Communication Division of Regency Communication and Informatics Service Melawi. This sectoral statistics development activity is an effort to strengthen the role of sectoral statistics within the framework of a comprehensive National Statistics System.
The discussion on the published data for Melawi Regency in Figures 2024 was carried out in groups guided by a BPS employee in each group so that the discussion took place more focused and efficiently. Through holding this FGD, it is hoped that the data presented in the publication Melawi Regency in Figures 2024 will be of higher quality, accuracy, and completeness.
